I dip My metaphorical Pen into the Ink for the last Time to compose this Message to my scientific and philosophical Brethren among the Rebel Hordes of Our common Homeworld, in the Hopes that It might serve to preserve at least Something of Our great Endeavour among the Stars.
You are no Doubt already aware of the Civil War ravaging our Colony: House against House, Our brave Vassals are dying in Droves on the Battlefield. With each passing Day, however, It becomes clearer and clearer that no House can emerge victorious; and with only the alien Wilderness of our Host Planet below us as a Refuge, I fear that the End is Near.
